Cirque du Soleil requests protection from creditors

Tuesday 30 June 2020 - 12:12

There have been articles in the press about Cirque du Soleil, which has applied for protection against its creditors. If the application is approved, it means that Cirque du Soleil will have the necessary financial scope to (re)review its current activities and avoid bankruptcy. There is great confidence that this globally recognised institute will receive the necessary support so that we can welcome ‘Corteo’ next year. This is in everyone’s interest, not least Cirque du Soleil’s creditors. If you have tickets for Cirque du Soleil’s ‘Corteo’ in the Lotto Arena, you don’t need to take any action for the time being. You will be personally informed by email as soon as there is more news. If you have tickets for ‘Kooza’ in Brussels, you will receive more information directly from Cirque du Soleil.

Message from Cirque du Soleil:

“As you may have heard in the news recently, Cirque du Soleil is experiencing difficult times. Rest assured that we are pursuing the best options that will allow us to resume our business activities as soon as possible. For now, our performances are still paused, but, this is only an intermission. Soon the spotlights will come back on. We are happy you have tickets for one of our shows, and don’t worry, your tickets remain valid. We can’t wait to see you! For as sure as the sun rises every day, Cirque du Soleil will return, brighter than ever.
We will see you soon.”
